Traditional Sisha Nyama Braai


Spice mix

  • 10 ml (2 t) salt
  • 2.5 ml (½ t) chili powder
  • 2.5 ml (½ t) ground cumin
  • 5 ml (1 t) black pepper
  • 5 ml (1 t) cayenne pepper
  • 5 ml (1 t) dried oreganum

Braai meat

  • 4 x beef chuck chops, or similar
  • 4 x lamb braai chops, or similar
  • Rhodes Chakalaka Mild & Spicy, warmed

To serve:

  • Pap & wors
  • Spicy pap bake
  • Roosterkoek


  1. To make the spice mix, measure out all of the ingredients and mix well.
  2. Generously season the braai meat with the spice.
  3. Braai to liking and serve with Rhodes Chakalaka Mild & Spicy and fresh baked bread or suggested side dish
